Nestled in a stunning mountain valley on 17.5 peaceful acres in central Colorado (just 35 miles southwest of the historic town of Salida) our flagship location – The Steel Horse – offers everything you need to host an extraordinary group experience.

Packages include the use of unique indoor & outdoor event spaces with mountain views, event supplies & services, property exclusivity, and overnight accommodations that encompass a mix of private guest rooms, full hookup RV sites, 'glamping' geodesic domes, and tent camping sites. When we don’t have group events, guest rooms, 'glamping' domes, and RV sites can be booked individually. Learn more about our packages below.

The concept of The Colorado Retreat Co. manifested over more than a decade of planning events at various venues around the world. Desiring a stunning location that was surrounded by nature, offered unique gathering spaces, and was suited to help people reconnect to each other, themselves, and the outdoors by disconnecting from the hustle and bustle, owner & operator Christina Christian found the perfect flagship location at the Steel Horse.

It’s a beautiful place surrounded by beautiful mountains! Clean, well lit and so welcoming. There’s so many places on the property to enjoy, whether it’s a walk down by the creek, or gathering place around a warm fire. The community kitchen is wonderful! And the picnic area for everyone to come together for a meal, if they want, is so great!
